Re: Budget 2009 Part 2

Hello Lads,

I took the afternoon off to see this Budget

I can only describe it to be a complete disgrace :naughty:

I might as well have asked Brain Lennihan to collect ALL MY WAGES at the end of the week & just throw the "FEW BOB BACK", that he does not want

Sure how will the economy ever grow, when there is no cash in circulation to create purchases, jobs, stealth taxes :hammerhead:

I pay a lot of tax already, how much more do these Muppet's want :wall:

There is a proposal to bail out the banks again with a Toxic Bank aka "State Agency", to purchase land banks & property at a Knock Down price, from developers ....... Give me a break..... if the Government cannot control their own finances.... how will they administer this complex function :ponder2:

I might aswell....... give up my job, go on the dole and tell the Banks I cannot afford to pay them back....... Sure my dept might as well be toxic too :ponder2: :ponder2:

Cheers,

Michael
P.S. Sorry about the Rant, but I am really annoyed about today's measures

Well said Michael, hit the nail on the head there.

I too pay a serious amount of tax every month and now they want more, its a joke, it really is. :angry1: :angry1: :angry1:

I agree with you Michael, its a terrible budget, they didnt do anything to help people keep there jobs, it was all taxes and what they can take in and this is only the start of it. its going to get worse, when there talking about possibilitys like carbon tax. brian cowen caused this mess he was in charge of finance and he didnt do anything about it just spend away.
I wont be voting for ff next time what wasters :angry1:

there putting people under pressure with there increased taxes

Did ye know brian cowen is earning more than president o,bama.

Totally agree with you on that Michael and as Mark said the mortgage relief going after 7 years is a real kick in the head. I know I shouldn't be complaning as I have a job and many people here and friends of my own don't have any but I worked 5(4 of which were double time) hours overtime last week and only ended up with €40 extra so any more I'm just taking time in leiu no point giving it to the government

Great budget - best one yet - looking forward to December already!!

Bruton is going to tax Christmas and cut back on sunshine in the summer.

"Grey skies are gonna clear up put on a happy face"..... Yep we're boned.

We're the laughing stock of europe, bunch of back-slapping brown envelope taking buffons!

Our banks arent going get better unless the whole "pal network" is rooted out.

But there gonna twist and turn like the snakes they are and if they do get the sack, big payoff and pension.

Viva le banana republic!

Yes, I know Brian is mister for finance - my car has a radio in it and I have a tv at home!
I meant Richie will be in there come December.

His full title is Brian Lenihan TD Mister for Finance.

The business cards came back with the typo , but there was no money for new ones, so he went with it.

I for one think its great.

I don't know what to make of the budget!! I pity genuine people under 20 that are unemployed that now have to try living off €100 a week especially if they are in a place of there own or have no parents about, because i certainly can't live off the €107 they have been paying me since i've been out of work! :wall: :wall:

this is sh1t i think my car will have to go got it last year and cold afford it like many lads

my payments were on a budjet.it got very tight at the last budjet what with the income and pension levy :angry1:

but now im defo be in the red so id say ill be posting in the for sale section very soon :icon_cry:

Was listening to this in work today and did sound a bit like being asked to bend over and touch your toes :angry1:
The extra tax levy coupled with the changes to health levy are going to have a big hit.
Absolutely nothing in there to stimulate spending so it looks like most of the Irish money will be pulling the UK out of recession not here.

There is a Public sector pay rate review, they'll probably get a raise :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

Kind of expected it to end with 'That's all folks' and the looney tunes theme...

there is a lot of talk about them cutting back government spending, and in the same breath there setting up bodies to deal with toxic debt. its all smoke and mirrors with this crowd of goons. am i right when i say that the tax payer is bailing out banks that lent money to ppl that could never pay back the loans, and instead of the banks dealing with their own mess the govenment is setting up a body which will employ the ppl they are going to sack as part of the ''cutbacks''...........im sorry i read this thread now im really p1ssed :angry1:
