Petrolheads
reading a few papers with the last few days and all are predicting onother large rise in car tax and vat rise on petrol. will this promt some of our members who use their subarus as daily drivers to have to change to another cheaper model as some dont have the luxury of being able to keep a weekend car. at over a grand a year for the 2.5 its getting harder to justify :angry1: opinions please

A few cents on the pumps will make little difference compared to property tax.
A bill of 2,500euro in the door will be the tipping point for many if it gets off the ground.
That would be the cost to insure and tax for the year with a tank or 3 of petrol thrown in.
You just reminded me to get a pallet of Guinness in before the budget. :icon_jook: :icon_jook:

This is mental, it makes me want to get into politics steer up some sh*t up their arses and bleach their holes with cheap Russian burning bleach... sorry, just going mad it, I just think that enough is enough, enough bending over and taking up as far as they can get, makes your hair curl hearing people missing their meals and not being able to afford their bills, Wright ANGRY it makes me, I know I’m not the real paddy coz i wasn’t born here but as far as I’m concern this is my home land and it affect the likes of me also.

The thing is that they, the ones taking decisions on the budget and increasing road taxes up to 50%, increasing petrol and also universal charges by 3%, that does not affect them at all, they get wages like 150k to 350k a year, their expenses taken care of up to 6-10k a month, how tha hell do you spend 6-10k a month, they pay no taxes and they get free luxury cars but they make you pay trough their noses, the question is how are they supposed to understand the average Paddy.

Id say the government should implement a new law that would reduce their wages, makes them pay taxes as a regular Paddy and the money cut from their wages to be used them to benefit The State, The People and for the People not mummify us alive and pull our brains out of your nose while alive, coz that is how it feels.

When do we say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH? NOW WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

:icon_headbang:

Strap yourself in and get a big tub of vazzo ready because we are about to f.ucked up the ass big time.

You forgot the Extra sand in the vazzo keith. Just going to have to cut back in other areas such as no household charge. No tv license. And 3 on 6 off in stead only way to do it

Sick of this crap was looking at my pay slip today and between all the taxes pension life insurance and critical illness cover im starting to think is there any point at all.

My pension will prob be gone if i live long enough to retire.
Life insurance is for my daughter as i have no savings and this is the only way i can leave her somthing if anything was to happen me.
Critical illness is to cover my loans so the greedy scumbags who screwed us all over (the banks)dont come after my family for the money.

When my daughter has to emigrate in a few years because her future was taken away before she even had a chance i will be on that plane with her.

This budget coming would have people in other countrys out on the streets but it will never happen here.

I will have my car another 2 months then im off to the world of normal cars.
No more scooby for me my 7 year relationship will be over :icon_cry:

We should get all the car clubs together and storm their gates and i am sure we could get a few lorry drivers too..... :angry1: :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

Usual story with yet another useless austerity budget.

those to be hit will be the sick, the poor, the disabled, the disadvantaged, the elderly, the jobless, car tax, ciggies and alcohol.

Just sickens me when I see people having to stand outside supermarkets with a bucket looking for loose change for the local CHILDRENS HOSPITAL because the billions that used to be directed to the hospitals is now REDIRECTED to the ANGLO-IRISH-BANK and other black holes to pay FOREIGN PROFESSIONAL GAMBLERS/BONDHOLDERS back their money PLUS INTEREST on their INVESTMENT. Those FAT CATS are LAUGHING THEIR ASSES OFF at us :angry1: US and our CHILDREN will be PAYING FOR THEIR LOSSES for the foreseeable future...
Also can't understand how we could have allowed one man (now dead) to overnight decide to GUARANTEE all the banks in country (we know he was FOOLED/FORCED to do this by the BIG BOYS who control the money long before we knew what what going to happen - THE BIG BOYS DID THOUGH and made sure to set things up so they'd get their money back)

more petrol costs and tax, great, at 187 euro for 3 months tax is killing me to pay it, especially when i put in brand new hks coilovers and rota GTR-D wheels about a month ago, and only after 2 weeks i hit a pot hole (trying to avoid another pot hole i might add) which i got out and measured was 5 and half inches deep and took a picture of it. damaged the joint in the top mount of the coilovers and dented the dish on the wheel too. hks coilovers rebuild kit for one coilover was 230 euro and to get the wheel fixed was another 70 euro after painting.

187 euro for 3 months car tax , whats the point!

also fitted 550cc injectors, walbro fuel pump and decat, cant wait to use even more petrol now after the budget :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

well the problem is, as mentioned by scoobyturbo, that ppl cant organize, get out there and do something together.

if EVERYONE didnt pay their car tax what would happen? well, they for sure cant impound all the cars in ireland can they LOL.
if EVERYONE went on a fuel strike for lets say 2 days and used public transport/bike/walk instead. where possible anyways.

This country is a joke. The government should be all made do with the same wages we get and see how they would get on. It wouldn keep petrol in their cars let alone tax them. They Dont have a clue bout how to keep all the bills payed and food on the table

Your dead right there Keith. Anyone who can shud get away from This country because i know loads of people who are in oz and America and doing very well for themselves .

The move to Oz or the US is a good idea if your young enough. I am past the accepted age for emigrating on a work visa and as such need to be sponsered. To do this I need to have thousands, at least ten thousand in the bank. I also have lots of friends in the US and some are successful and the others are living day to day like myself.Myself and the missus rarely go out and I can tell you it can cause hell by times. I had my chance to move over in the early nineties but chose to stay "build up our country". I have been lucky, still working, bills being paid so far, my IMPREZA is the last thing I have for enjoyment. And when I say enjoyment I mean if Iam pissed off after paying the ba*tard goverenment and increasing survival bills, the feeling of sitting in the car with the window down and driving up over the twisty hill roads into the curragh is the greatest release of anger.

The idea for organising a protest with all car clubs is a fantastic idea, I know many truck and van drivers and the amount of families this affects is huge. Bring it on, will have a look into what is needed to do it. Remember when the trucks blocked some of the major roundabouts afew years back, just shows it works. :angry1: :angry1: :new_2gunsfiring_v1: :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

Am i the only one here to think it will take "violence, bloodshed and murder"on the streets of dublin to wake up the government :new_2gunsfiring_v1: :new_2gunsfiring_v1: :new_2gunsfiring_v1:
