bye all.

Lovely car the M3's. Sweet sound when they're on full chat :icon_headbang:

Some difference in handling from awd though fat controller, you ever drive rwd before as I know plenty of lads that switched from awd and never felt comfortable?

I know I bang on about track time alot!
BUT seriously, if you get her out on track on a wet day, and explore her limits in that safe controlled enviroment,
It will greatly increase your confidence and ability on the road,
You don't want your first "gearing down oversteer" to be as you round a wet bend on a public road with on coming cars!!!
Sould be compulary with any sports cars, especially RWD!!
Sure it was only a couple of weeks ago we watched an inexperianced chap loose the back end in mondello, he hadn't a clue what to do, and he wroye off his M3

Oh nasty!
I had that gearing down, sideways moment, for the first time, on the road!
Was in a 218bhp 120d, coming off the navan road, heading towards dublin at the Mulhuddart exit.
Managed to keep it all in check, and it probably looked pretty cool, but i got that electric shock, tingly feeling down my arms!

Can't wait to do my first track day, hopefully in the next month or so in the STI.

Good on you! I'll see you out there,
The 1 series would be pretty cool on track, And I imagen the ESP (electronic stability program) helped out more than you know when you had your moment!

I'd had the esp turned off, there were a few damp roundabouts on the way down ;-)
Its gone now, but it was a quick little car. Anyone that ever drove it couldnt believe the pace of it.
Was a full M sport model with a few toys an re-map by chippedire.
Dyno'd at 218bhp and just over 400ft-lbs! But held a fairly steady 360ft-lbs from about 2200 to 3600 rpm, then slowly fell off.

Fresh oil, new decent pads and a once over and the sti should be good to go.
