Calipers in dishwasher??

I have second hand brembos to go on the car and was thinking of sticking them through the dishwasher as they are very dirty in all the awkward spots. Would you think the temperature effect seals or gaskets :ponder2:
 
Get some gunk spray from halfords and a couple of different sized paint brushes to get at the awkward spots and try that first.
 
Don't know if it will effect the seals... you wouldn't want to get water into pistons. But it could ruin dishwasher.

Did that with a rocker cover after de-gunking it and cleaning it to get the grease off before painting and it ruined the dishwasher for about a week... everything came out stinking of oil & degreaser. In the dog house for quite some time.... :new_puppy_dog_eyes: :angry1: :icon_hang:

I can imagine herself goin too the dish washer and finding the Rocker Cover!!!! :lol: :lol:

She went f**king ballistic... and coz everything stank... glasses, cutlery.. etc... everytime we ate something she got pissed off again!!!! Nightmare!!!! There was black carbon residue all over the trays, filter and walls of the dishwasher... had to run it about 6 times emptyy to clear it out and soak all the filters in bleach!!

Never again!!! :new_argue:

Glad I could be of service... I keep explaining to her that I do these stupid things for experimental reasons so as to advice other club members... :icon_blahblah: my pain you gain and all that!!

She hasn't bought it though... she just things I'm f**king stupid and don't think before I do things!... She's probably right!!!! :iamwithstupid:

I get this the whole time, I mean the whole time, Grant it i do every thin spur of the moment even if its not the brightest idea, Like using her hair shampoo for washing the car :lol: :lol: I didn't know tre semme is expensive!!!!!!But i gives a great shine on the car!!!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

But ya i wouldn't use the dish washer, you'd do better cleaning it in gunk, or Degreaser, does some job, i cleaned my mates vti engine over the weekend, and its brilliant stuff!
 
We have a shitzu dog at home and the missus got her groomed last year. I also have a 1960's JCB leaking gear oil from the rear diff, which the dog decided to play under, need i say any more... :doh:
