Cat Back Exhaust

“What’s that noise?” Let it Develop

Been Looking at some cat back during the last few weeks,I was going to buy Scubbay's fujitsubo exhaust but I didnt want to drive to the North to get an exhaust only to have to modify a hanger to make it fit a classic. thats was costing €200 plus a tank of juice  (probably) and then get a welder to cut off a hanger and weld it on the opposite side on the pipe.

So I have decided on this,

http://www.just-subaru.com/exhausts-classic-72098-0.html

Works out at €390 roughly delivered, lifetime warrenty,3" pipe work and one of the quieter systems.

Opinions on this, great reviews on Scoobynet and that

if it delivers the results it says its a great buy at a good price. Never heard of that site before had a good nose around it

would have no prob with revolution i bought from them before and no probs good quality stuff

Brillant thanks Dec

Is your downpipe already 3"? It doesn't say anything about that exhaust bein a 2.5" into 3" and in there quote about power gains, it says they used their downpipe, no mention of fitting to standard downpipe :dontknow:

The joints look class, if they are the slip in ones like the picture underneath, good for flow :icon_biggrin:

Its a 3" downpipe on the car Robbie, keith the sales man told me there is a slip joint near the flange so you can specify what size flange its been fitted to 2.5 or 3" so handy that way.Ive put a bit of time into picking the right exhaust so i hope this is going to do the business, the loud jap style exhaust just does not do it for me anymore.I doubt its going to have a huge effect on performance being a quieter system

Good stuff so, just wanted to say it in case

A lot of good sytems come with resonators to restrict noise as too much noise can cause resonance which returns down the pipe and effects turbo spool so I wouldn't say it won't perform as well

p.s. you made the right decision to avoid that other system and buy new instead. Its just a pain in the ar$e dealing with other peoples second hand stuff that needs modification, especially when you'd end up spending the same as buying new, just to get it to fit :wall:

Cheers. I was looking at a BlueFlame system which had a resonator/center box but have a smaller rear silencer but pictures of the exhaust were not even on there website so I just didnt deal with them in the end.

As regards the 2nd hand, yer man knew well it was not straight fit and didnt even reply when I told him I wasnt taking it,and your right, buying other peoples problem most of time buying 2nd hand
