If it's just your first 2 points, then do worry about it!
Insurance wont change till you get 6 points
Dan

you could question the validity of calabration on the gun much like the breathalyser unit!!!!!
but if he caught up with you while still doing over 120,it will be on the squadcar camera in the windscreen...
happened to me on m1 years ago...
doing 105 miles an hour...
i questioned his gun and he told me to sit in passenger seat of unmarked camry and i saw it on the camera played back!!!
doh :wall: :wall: :wall:

there was something on the news today about alot of speeding cases being thrown out, the m1 was mentioned so it might be worth lookin into

think that was down the santry end at the tunnel where it goes from 50 to 60 to 80 to 100 to 120 in 2 or 3 miles on a motorway!!!
ridiculous!!!
:angry1: :angry1:

i have been done twice and not in the scoob but they have showed me the gun both times and said thats your calibrated speed.

i say its probably to late now doe probably should have said it to him there if you had known

Speed displays on the M50?

I went passed one at 110 and it said "your speed 96kph".

As above, not to worry if its your first 2... but with any company i've seen it is 4 points and they start to penalise you, not 6... so just be careful...

was it a marked car or the silver volvo?
swords gards or balbriggan?
where exactly did they get you?

i'm up and down that road most days..

it was a marked car im not sure where the gard was from it was before the toll bridge on the Dundalk side if your up and down there a bit id take it a bit handy id say he ll be out a fair bit over the crimbo :subaru:

Just wait til you get the fine in the post and take note of every little detail on-yuor name, address, date, speed etc. Ive gotten two in the last four years that had wrong details-never paid them-never heard a thing about it.

Yea as Dagnut says, your clocks woulda said u were going faster than 140kmh. The guns have a sticker on them sayin when they were last calibrated and when they are due again. Most Guards allow ya 20 over the limit on the gun which would be 30 or 40 over on your clocks. Be careful if ya don't pay it. If ya eventually go to court and the judge goes against ya you will pay double the fine and get some points. Speeding cases don't get thrown out as much any more.
Sure its up to yourself anyway. I got caught a few years ago on my bike doin 80mph in a 40mph zone. I was blatantly speeding so I paid up and 2 years ago the points were removed after the 3 were up. It flys by!!

Its the Drogheda Traffic corps that control that whole area of the M1.

huh? I find that hard to believe. There is no way guards are that lenient. Sure my Mother got done for 42 in a 40 twice!

All cars read 10% below what the actual speed is.

For example when your clock is at 100kph, your actual speed is 90kph. That is the reading you will see at any of them signs warning your of your speed and is the same reading that the cops will get if they clock you.

So remember to drive at 110 today and give :hjtwofinger: to the garda

PS: If your clock has been delimited in a certian way, then this 10% goes out the window so be careful!

Same goes if you change your wheels/tyres & end up with bigger or smaller rolling circumference.

That would be right the tolernace for the gun is supposed to be 5%..so anything of 42> they can do you

I'd say that was the road side van... There is no way a garda would stop anyone and say i'm sorry but you were doing 42 there, 80e and 2 points thanks. Wouldn't happen...
