Hello,

I am currently saving up for a 1996-1997 Impreza WRX STI (Maybe a Type R) as standard as possible.

I started thinking about getting one a few months ago when I seen the value to be had. First was looking at the UK model, then the WRX and now decided I really should get a STI.

With the issues that Im seeing with Rust on UK imports Im thinking of getting one direct from Japan. I want something that has been well looked after.

Anyway back to saving...

There was a gray type r on sale here by member with little bit of work required.

Welcome along :thumbsup: best of luck with the search . Keep in mind that the cares you are looking at are 20 years old , finding 1 with the original engine that doesn't need work will be very hard got and will require deep pockets .
The car above have a new Subaru short block fitted which in my opinion is huge selling point and I'm amazed that it hasn't sold with so my lads looking for type r's . Yes it needs a bit of tidying on the bumpers and a few bits but it's a 20 year old Daly car

Oh yeah I seen that ad, I'm really looking for <97 so I can get classic insurance on it being 20years old. And want one with original engine.

Still undecided on sedan or type R.
Heck only even been in one and didn't drive it as had too many issues to consider buying.

Hi and welcome,

I have 1998.type r on classic insurance with autoline insurance up north, they cover rep of ire cars on classic policy if over 15 yrs old. Fully comp, 5k mileage a year limit, 330 euro👍 you must have another car as a daily though
