just bought a 00 celica 190 for good money.car was parked up since Dec 2007.was put through NCT in October 2010+passed no problems.i test drove it + a lot of smoke { white }.seems to run very smoothly but showed a few errors on first few test drives.sorted themselves out after a good blast.should i replace plugs, oils, filters etc after car being stood up so long ??? or would i be wasting money as got a service before NCT.THANKS.

Used to have one of these. great little cars ya can drive the nuts off them and a nice little kick when ya hit 6500rpm. Def change the plugs and oil other than that it should be pretty bulletproof. Stick up a few pics. Does it have the Mcphearson strut suspension?

http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1370863 looks better than pics in the flesh+got her cheaper than advertised.didnt bring her home yet as waiting on book to tax it.not sure about suspension, will examine it closer when i get her home.brought her for a good test drive+loved it.still have the forester, but more of a workhorse so wont be leaving this club just yet.

Used to own one of these as well . There is an issue with the lift bolts on them. Have they been changed do you know.

lift bolt issue was with 140bhp vvti model not 190bhp vvtli

the lift bolts were only in the 190 .. they were part of when the "lift" kicked in to give you the extra 50bhp bit like the v tec in the hondas.. If they brake then you have no Lift..

good man, my mistake.i'll get them done with service.just been reading up +seems easy enough job {if there not split}.have a good mechanic, ill get him to give it the once over.cheers gerry.

ya dave it seems not too bad job to change them and there only a few euro they have a different design one out now.. but if its broken down there then thats a whole different ball game
