Change the oil sump plug, but think i've got bigger problems!!!!

Changed it for a magnetic plug €8 from ebay.

But my timing belt is on its last legs.

Any ideal of how much it'll cost to change and would i be aswell to change the water pump.

when was your timing belt done ? would you want to get that done maybe

Great stuff, i wasnt sure which belt it was, is the squeakin noise coming from the engine

when i'm sitting at the lights any thing to worry about. Engine has 166000km on the clock.

Timing belt was done at 138000km, so i should be alrite for a while so.

Put some WD40 on the pulley...squeak will go away.

power steering/ alternator belt if your near kylemore road southside motor factor's they will sort you out they have gate's belt's less than 20 yoyo's

Great stuff v5, i'll pop in and get 1 as soon as i can, sprayed some WD40 on it and was told never to, as

that only helps speed up the breakdown of the belts fibres, i should have used a silicone based spray!

Hope you didn't spray it on the belt! surely you shouldn't be doing that! The pulley is one thing but the belt???

Well i sprayed WD40 on the pulley and sprayed silicone based(belt life extender)stuff.

A pair of replacement belts are on the way,plus fuel filter €30 delivered.

Ah just kinda got a bit paniced with all the sqeaking noise every time i pulled up

at the lights.

belt dressing is what you need for the squeaky belts. WD40 is definitely not good for the belts
