changed rad pipe but??

well lads today i changed the rad pipe on my 95 sti ra as usual checked for leaks so i went for a short spin and came back and there was steam coming from it again.anybody there to solve my problem
 
after u changing the pipe there would be excess colent around the enging that is drying up with the heat, is the coolent level gone down
 
yeah its gone down to nothing i topped up with water until i get coolant.whats the best coolant.hope it aint nothing to worry about
 
doesnt seem to be cracked its a brand new rad that went into it about a year ago i know that cause my father owned it before i bought it and froggy put a new one in it
 
yeah just air block and as scooby said the steam was just the old coolant drying into the rad.glad to get it sorted and back on the road
