Im dont think i know how to answer that wtf?
Some of the top tuners in Uk have the view that some of the castrol oils become unstable at high temperatures.. Everyone has there preference of oil, i dont personally buy mine because its a sticker on a WRC car, I run magnetec myself in any standard ish car.. but I go for the motul for anything thats up in power. Ive had Silkolen recomended to me aswell.
Francy is jokin there ken, everyone has there preference with oil but in wrc or not total is one of the biggest oil companies in the world so I would be confident that they make good products im sure there have been failures with lads using motul too ,so its not all down to oil ,just because something is relatively cheap does not mean its sh*t
i use magnatec in road going everyday cars, anything that runs big power or gets a hard life gets motul 300v. i did use castrol 10/60 for a long time, partly because i couldn't find anything better and partly because i worked in bmw and got it cheap. bmw still use it in there m engines. i found when changing to motul that the oil temp dropped by over 5 degrees and oil pressue was more stable when in extreme conditions. and thats not something i read on a site somewhere, thats my own car that i ran the same spec for a long time. motul for me thanks .

i have it on good authority that Mobil1 10w60 motorsport is the best oil to use on EJ's
get mine from Halfords, its quite costly at €65 odd but you cant put a price on a working big end
defiantly dont run 5w30 though guys! especially if you drive hard that stuffs like water in comparison

I was waiting for someone to mention Mobil... i have it from a Head Subaru mechanic, that is/was over a rally team that mobil is the worst oil for Subarus... it really is horses for courses when it comes to oil.. we all stick with what we are used to and happy with.
