Lads can anyone tell me what the 1.5 imprezas(classics) are like as i read on here the 1.6s are pigs on petrol
Or even any other cheap runabout 5-600yo yos pref in the cork or kerry area :thumbsup:
No hairdressers cars though :1poke: :icon_grin:

The reason im asking about the 1.5,1.6 impreza is because i have a shed load of spares here and would be handy to swop stuff off it to the type r for nct etc.Had a link to a 1.5 impreza wagon on dd here this morning and it sold as i was typing here :wall:
So obviously if its as thirsty as an sti it will be a no go.
1 Are 1.5,1.6 heavy in juice any thing to keep an eye out for when buying one?
2 Does Sorn apply in this country when car is off the road?

there was a tread somewere think they are hard to run not sure of the reasons cant remember weight i think and with current fuel prices wouldnt help

@sean 1.5/1.6 impreza's are heavy on juice . so be a no go for a cheap runaround imo

Should have added that a 4/5 door car would be preferable as there will be buckets going in the scoob.
 
I drove a `04 1,6 wagon from Hungary to Ireland with a roofbox. 9L/100 Km. Without the box and the missus driving 7.5 L / 100Km. Had it for 2 years,put 50k Kms on Her with an average 8l / 100 Km ( 35 mpg ) but never ever gave any trouble.
Wouldn`t call it too hard on juice.
Her current 1,6 petrol Focus C-Max is actually worst and it isn`t AWD

Sold one about 2 weeks ago for €500 - 1998, 4 door, 1.4. So €250 sounds very fair, would be hard to go wrong on just €250.
