well guys,
went to check the ecu yesterday removed the panel below the steering i seen the black connectors but no sign of the green connectors. when i connected the black ones the engine light kept flashing but all the flashes were at the same speed. do all subaru have the two colours
 
If you look again you will see the green connectors, there proboly still taped up. You can do a dynamic check when driving using the green's, and also used to put out the MIL. The fact that the MIL blinked like that, show's you have no recorded fault.
