All rally cars crash and as of yet they cann't dispose of the batteries in these cars yet. I heard that if one of them was to leak it's more damaging then any car driven for a year. Don't know how true that is.
It's sad that this $hite is even corrupting motorsport, twenty odd years ago in Group B they strapped lads into spaceframe chassis covered with fibreglass, whacked up the turbo so that the cars delivered F1 rivalling performance and let them at it. Nowadays we have diesels winning LeMans and electric rally cars and 2k tax on new Scoobys....
Snag with hydrogen powered cars is your driving around in a Bomb!,if you crash it's very bad news....more so than usual!,as for the tax,the 08 subaru is disgusting....07 all the way!,take that Mr. VRT!
The Jap toyota GT racer has been using this technoligy in there car for awhile now,
Light weight capasitor (short term storage) style battery it just helps power you out of a corner after the brakes charge it up while decelerating!

That's the KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) that F1 are looking at introducing for next year,a hydrogen system generates electricity from smashing hydrogen atoms at each other
