Clear Glass for 2 Dr Coupe.... P1 glass **** SORTED****

Hey all,

Does anyone know where I can get a set of rear glass that is clear and untinted to replace the black windows in my Type R.

Basically I need the rear glass out of a P1 (hens teeth..... :wall: )... or out of a N/A 1.5 litre coupe.

If anyone knows someone with a 1.5 coupe that may want to swap my black OEM rear windows for there clear ones... will you let me know?

I could try Subaru Ireland for new ones if I had a chassis no. from a P1... but I reckon they'll be fairly pricey!

Any help would be greatly apprecaited!

PS - Tint in my OEM windows is not a film and cannot be removed.... it's actually in the glass! :wall:

I can only tell you how hard it's to get the tinted new ones - 6 weeks waiting for the replacement for my broken glass, and still nothing.
Seen fortunately some on ebay - not too expensive, but shipping the glass from UK by the post... not sure if it will come in one piece :)
Anyway still waiting for insurer to sort it and they're waiting for the glass...

Anyway - if you get your clear glass - let me know if you have your tinted ones for sale ;)

Dunno how much help this is Jamie,

But my old type-r is being broken, and the drivers side rear window wasn't factory tinted, it had been replaced before I got the car. I had it tinted to match the other side but that can be removed again.

Means ya'd just need the passenger side rear window then :thumbsup:

thanks jamie yeah we were scaldin the pooir oul 92 scooby up the road for ya,she wasnt too bad,shes scrapped now,sold a few bits of her this evening

Is that defo that it's in the glass? I wanted to swap my rears to clear as well and had read somewhere that the tint could be pealed/scraped off?

Afraid not Niall... poxy tint is in the glass! I've already taken a blade to glass and no luck in removing it or even making a mark in it!

I'm hoping a clear window out of a 4Dr Jap WRX with wiper hole will fit a coupe... and from what Froggy23 was sayin... it will fit! Obviously UK/Irish are without hole!
