Changing the backlights to red looks awfull as the light is to directional. If you want to do them right they need split and all the green filament sanded of the back of the dials then red gel film added to give them an oe look.
If you want to spend a bit then just swap them for a set of hawkeye gauges, 2 plugs to reverse and 1 wire to cut and there done.

Where'd you get this gel daza? Would it be readily available locally?
styling gel is what a photographer would use to cover his lense to change colours, readily available.
Red is a stronger colour than red so in theory if red is laid over green it should come out red, " we shall see"
experimenting with my HVAC Gauges 2-day with red windscreen tint just to see if it works as-well. 1 side is sticky so would be advantageous if it works.
sorry cant respond to pm`s. 01 to 04 wrx gauges are a straight swap.
