Thinking about getting coilovers for the RS and just want to know what ones are best suited for our roads and all that...how much would you pay for a new set and would I be wasting my money buying secondhand?

A good spring and damper combination is equally as good Johnny something like bilstein, koni etc

wagon dec

As Dec says ,coilovers will do your head in after a few months if it's only gonna be used once in a blue moon maybe but as an everyday car I think that are sh*t great for track
Was behind a civic the other night with 4 lads in it on coilovers funny looking at all the heads in the back nodding away over every little bump

Tien springs or eibac springs would make it sit lower and spend the change on a rub and tug

As Keith said I'd go for a good spring and decent shocks.

Had coilovers in mine when I got it. Savage on track but bumpy roads were torture!
Stuck a new set of standard shocks in and tein springs and it was just right for fast bumpy Tarmac.

Get a proper alignment set up done and get good rubber on the 4 corners.
Should be a huge difference in handling on the car.

With the price of new shocks and springs a set of coilovers are about the same price give or take 800 or so . Biggest mistake lads make is getting the spring Rate too hard With 24 settings of adjustment In seconds from very soft to very hard I find them great. .
I know Im doing small milage but even so It not a bad choice :thumb::thumb:

i I went for bc coilovers from Dave in rsr :thumb:

I from personal choice would choose a damper and spring over a coilover.

Thats a personal choice. BC on soft setting can be friendly enough.

Imo an inverted strut like STi v5/6 with eibach black pro kit is the text book long term solution.

Yes it will be same or more then BC option.

With sterling rate BC is in e1100 area.
