Sunday Drivers
Im in the market for a new set of coilovers or second hand depending the price. They are for my 01 B4 and i wasnted to know wat ones i should go for..and will i have a horrible ride with these as i love the way the car is bit needs to be dropped to look class :multijump:

BC are meant to be the best coilovers for our roads. Im sure some of the lads on here have them and will give you info on them !

depends on what ya want to spend....
ya can go for a set of BC's or a set of top of the line cusco's teins etc

paying for bigger names can give additional features and options

wouldnt bother if every day driver.. roads over here are s:angry1:t and the car gets rocked to bits + extra wear on bushings extra.. if you just want it to sit lower just get lowering springs, cheaper too. ive had about 3 cars with coilovers and i always said id never go back, cars i got just happened to have them, id say they be the best mod for track car if set up right.

Ive had a car lowered before and i know how horrible it is, but i put 18 inch wheels on her the other day and every time i have people in the bak it will rub its very annoying...so if i put springs on it the shocks will still compress the same i am guessing!

Putting lowering springs on wont help you one bit as they only really lower the car without offering any more resistance, you could roll your arches and try that, but it could be your wheel rubbing your shock, only sure way is coilovers im afraid and stiffen up the rear a click or 2, it doesnt take much

Very Strange, i had posted a reply above and its not there :ponder:

I had posted that value for money and spec for money you will not beat BC, For 800e or so you will get Soft/Hard adj, Height adj, Corner weight adj, Front camber adj, and pillow ball top mounts.
Also a big factor to consider is rebuild price, iirc BC are 60gbp per leg, where Tein are 150 gbp each i think.

I have BC in the Blob and am in the back of beyonds road wise, iirc i have Front set 4 clicks from softest and rear 2 clicks, and its much same hardness as Standard STI.
Anyone that tells you that a Coilover susp feels like standard is talking shite,it doesnt matter if you can match your Hardness to that of Standard set up, rebound, how they respond and soak up different types of ground will always feel different... in a good way do

€800 yoyos is alot of money i was thinkin alot cheaper! i know u pay for wat u get so im just gona have to keep looking around. cheers for the advice tho..i know u will never have a soft ride but at least u know its a decent set up!

You were thinking alot cheaper than 800e for a new set of coil overs :cuckoo:
If you had of said that in your first post it would have saved me waisting my time trying to offer you advise on coilovers :icon_rolleyes:

ahhhh still the advice is taken on board and i know i will end up spendin big mula!! I just wanted to know wat my options are as i have never bought them before!

The BC are a steal at the price they are, i remember paying 1200 for basic Teins for a Supra, had to use my standard mounts aswell

Think Tein super streets worked out about €1100 when i went looking. You can also get k sport/D2 coilovers to suit the legacy so might be worth checking prices.

Otherwise, wait for a set of second hand ones to come up and take your chances.

just be wary of the k sport i read before they are a bad design,as above man bc great all round coilover do a search for xyz coilovers a few guys on scooby ireland are using them and are getting good reviews

I have a set of Eifel Prova Concept of Nurburgring coilovers in my B4.
They are perfect.
5 set's of stiffness and ride height...
in pos 5 they are like standard suspension ideal for daily driving.
they expensive new. ask in japaneese performance.

What tires sizes are you using?. Changing to a narrower tyre (all be it with a slight stretched look over the wheel) could sort out the rubbing issue.

but then he would need 4 new tires, as it'll mess up his diff if he just changes the rears

nothing will happen. you can change 2 front or 2 on rear... they must be in same size.

well if he has 215s on the front and 205s on the rear, with the same profile, say 45, then the rears will have a different rolling circumference to the fronts, therefor damaging the centre diff
