Comercial road tax... pain in the FLANGE

I have trade I insurance so I'm coverd on it regardless of private or comercial, will put the pps number on it and have a go

My brother in law couldn get his van taxed so he bought some hens and applied for a flock number which is similar to a herd number and now he has no problem taxing his van plus he has plenty of eggs. Anoher friend of his had his van lifted on him last week by the customs because he was using it after six in the evening. Stupid law

Hi I used my pps number for the last two vans I bought, it's a one off thing for the first time you tax the van in your name. I was told by the woman in the tax office to do it this way. When I went to the garda to get it signed they asked what I wanted the for and I said I work as a mechanic and the van to carry my tools too and from work and I am on 24 hour call. I only work the regular eight hours but they told me its very rare they would check but make sure to always have some tools in the van just in case. I wrote on the form shift work and on call to cover myself, so far so good no probs.

Thats shocking , never heard of anyone getting van taken off them. How do customs know what hours anyone works to go taking a van off them. Thats unreal

Been talking to a few people and some people are not getting it done with there pps number:(

Just did the pps number, I think it's totally down to who ever serves you, I'd say if I had of got the lad that served me the last day I would have been in trouble. Don't think he likes white vans :(
