Howdy guys, and happy new year and all that JAZZZZZ

Can anybody give me an idea of how much BIK i would be likely to pay on a company car worth 35k and doing roughly 30,000 a year.I am on mileage at the moment and dont know if its worth getting a co. car?
Gestimate ranginging from 20-140 per week from different sources.Somebody with 1st hand experience would be great news

thanks

Alan

If that's the original market value of the car I'd say about €80 a week BIK to be taxed at marginal rate and PRSI

So a hit to your pocket of about 39 euro a week

think that's right but I'm an industry accountant so years since I did tax for real :ponder:

I think if you spend over a certain % of your weekly work hours on the road then you don't need to pay any BIK. You may need to keep some kind of record though.

Check with your HR or accounts dept.

I should add that the % of hours need to be in relation to your work.

Is it not all suppose to be changing now like car tax? To emissions?

What I do is just use a company car for the miles only take it home when I really have to, That way I don't have to pay any BIK, I wouldnt be racking up the miles you are but, 30k is a lot..if you get a commerical you won't have to pay any BIK
