Hey lads! Car is going in tomorrow for a re test (failed on CV boot :( )

But during the time from the initial test to this re test my Rad has began to leak, a pretty steady drip, and was pointed out to me by my mechanic when he had the car on the lift by the puddle on the floor!

My question is. Will it fail the retest?

Have a new rad at home but no time to fit before the test as I'm at work today and the test is early tomorrow

Thanks guys

it will fail the test if its seen lad....
but the testing is so random it will probably pass off!!!
good luck..
ive had loads of cars that get retest but issues can develop in the space of a month!!

I may get up at first light and swap it over then?

What would you say? And hours job? Hour and a half including getting it upto temp bleeding the system?

Really tick me off it it fails again!

The only consolation is I have an undertray so that catches most of it, but it still dripped at the mechanics

ah the good old NCT....the one day a year a car is declared roadworthy.

It's a retest, not a full first time test. On the retest, they can only check to see if the parts its previously failed on have been corrected. Hence why people can get away with swapping bulbs from one side to the other outside the door of the test and get them to do the visual on the side that failed when the side that passed 10mins previous is now not working...

only gonna be testin wats on your fail sheet so if its jus a cv boot then thats all they wil check they cant point out summit different as it already went thru a full test

Well, did it pass!?? Or are you still sitting in a puddle of coolant on your drive, wondering how did you get yourself into another mess like this and miss the retest!! lol
