Sunday Drivers
I red a good article on www.juicebox.com about the jap scene in ireland. About 2 or 3 years ago u used to see all sorts of cars floating around on the daily commute but nowadays high performance jap cars are rare!! It used to b young lads in the construction sector like meself in these cars!! I use my 2001 legacy b4 for work everyday and yes it costs me a bit but i never see any other subarus or jap cars for that matter...just shows how f****d this country is really. Whp else uses there car and what is it for a decent commute everyday?

used to drive mine to work everyday until november , was a mile round trip daily , 30 quid a week on e5 ,

changed jobs recently and have company van now so car moves on special occasions

Stopped driving it daily 2 months after I moved in with the woman because it cost me €700 per month in petrol alone for those 2 months. Pointless paying that just to sit in traffic or drive at 80kmph. Keep it for the weekends when you can get her out and stretch her legs :icon_biggrin:

stopped driving mine daily
pretty much after my first track day
just don't like driving it in traffic
its pointless , no fun in it and costly

02 bug sti daily driver here . 2.5 km from home to work 4 times a day and then wherever i go in the evenings ! try to make €50 last me the week excluding trips outside navan or when im late for mass !

remember when i first had it , petrol was €1 per litre (justin hawkins , good times )

02 bugeye sti also and Its a daily driver. Spend on average €110 on the motion lotion every week. I'll be cycling to and from work 3 days per week once the morning and evenings get a bit brighter

Only use mine 2/3 times a week if that.
Have a pug 106 there that gets me into work put 60 euro in it a few weeks ago and it's still full driving it every day saves me a mint on juice
Also the new map on the wr1 is savage on juice :)

My hawk is my daily driver but having said that it only costs me about 35 in juice for the week, as im ten minutes from work

I looked into getting something cheap last year but again you buy the car, insure it, tax it the numbers just didnt seem to add up :hammerhead:

My car is the daily driver but between the car, van and a tractor I'm spending about €200 some weeks on fuel, to be honest it has me broke, what ever about other things going up this is where I feel it most over the last 3 years. I don't know how lads with lorries are still going. I remember when i bought my first sti €50 would fill it, it takes nearly €80 now

Daily driver here, doing 400-450 miles a week commuting, costs a fortune in petrol but I don't have space to have it saved for the weekend. Plus it's too enjoyable to leave at home. Toying with the idea of getting a banger for day to day driving and keeping the scoob for the weekends but most of my weekend driving is doing the shopping etc. which would be a waste of a scoob. I waited a few years to be able to own a scoob so my plan now is to drive it as much as i can and enjoy it as much as I can, as I won't own one forever and when it's gone I'll regret not having driven it more.

Ive always used mine as a daily driver it wasnt to bad when i was living in Portlaoise was only doing bout 5 miles a day in the Ra but since ive moved im spending about €50 a week just to get to work and back in the Leggy bout 60km round trip a day

I was using mine to drive to work everyday. only 14km roundtrip in the city center.
After sitting in traffic 99% of the time, damaging my spine on all the potholes and burning through a tank a week. I decided to carpool with my mates car.
These cars are just not made for this city's roads.
Now its just my shopping cart :)

My daily journey is now 100km..this will b fun trying to squeeze every drop of fuel out of her!! :multijump:

i once got 120 miles to a full tank since the 2.35 went in, ive always had a 2nd car for work commute or shop/kids run ect...i find driving the scooby every day gets a bit boring and its a different type if you get me..so its nice to jump in the scooby warm up and go for a blast that does the trick for me
