Yep then popped in to us every afternoon for his Cappuccino.

I was in a Mercedes Dealer with a Mate once
we waited a hour to see a sales rep just standing around
ordered a New Merc S350 with roughly 20k of extras private plate and everything
heard nothing from them after that day
gets a call 2 months later
your cars here
thats very funny
because im in my 735i at the moment
you can stick it up your arse and hung up
bmw dealer then sold him several bmw and to family and friends
so probably ended up 10+ cars because he rang him back etc.
Member on here used to work there and the sales guys name is Frank
That was during the Great Builders Boom when we where all property Gods
Im guessing if you rang now they would be more accomodating but sure you never know
Personally I dont have a problem with Dealers
I just dont go in to them :icon_biggrin:

and regarding image
I was pointed out a man in a anorak carrying a lidl bag
like a roy cropper coronation street type a few years back walking down the road
turns out he was one of Irelands Richest Men
Old Money doesent look Flash
New Money does but when the tide goes out the emperor has no clothes
seen it over the years always the way

I knew a Frank...... Who sold Mercs in D4..
He was a flash snobby pri*k!

Wonder was it him. .......

I have dealing with particular BMW garage and I notice that, no matter what you come for, they just leave you waiting at least for an hour if not more. I mean I recon is some kind of company policy to keep customers there but I can figure it why. I'm going in and out of the offices seen employees chatting and messing when there is a 2-3 people waiting outside.
Also there is main makes and inferior makes. In BMW if you walk into the MINI area theres no one to great you or talk to you. Same in a VW garage I know if you enter from the SEAT side you can wonder there for hours before someone notice your presence.

Myself and the wife went to a local dealer the other day to see to try look at new car and to get seats modified, after ten min wait saw a salesman and was very snobby and assumed we didn't know anything felt like he was talking down to us, when we went back in to talk prices etc he left office to get some papers and started chatting to someone outside 20 mins later we just got up and left, Def won't be going back to them

I've had nothing but good expirences in dealers, when we were pricing up a new family car a while back we went to Toyota, skoda, ford and hyundai. All were keen to sell, no waiting, let off on Test drives on our own.
We went to local ford garage yesterday and brought buggy, 2 car seats and bases into showroom to try them for size and no issues doing that.

That's cos they could smell the money off ya  but seriously it's all about the sales staff . Doesn't matter how nice the garage meet a bad sales man and it ruins a business . He's getting paid to sell and be friendly to customers But sometimes you have to wonder But most lads are spot on ,
have bought 5/6 new cars and always had good dealings with the garages even private sales so really depends on the person

All I'll say on this with many years working in the best main dealers in the country.....is!!

Ask to meet the sales manager.
Do a deal with him if your serious!!!!!

A sales persons job in a main dealer now days is very similar to a car insurance sales person that you ring to get a quote.

Like prostitutes really without the ***y bit!

You ring or pop in, give all your details/requirements.

Then try thrash out a deal that suits!

You either feel welcomed or not.

Then you take your business somewhere else if the deal/welcome is not great.

My position in the main dealer is great... I just take the cock (cars/vans) and do what the customer wants!!
Customer is always right!! I'm really thick so they must be right.
My 15 years experience on the brand and their years ownership of their new car is far superior to my knowledge......

I don't get a say in the matter.... I can only advise the customer... As they know everything.

Sorry I painted a bad picture.. I should say I get handsomely paid for my hard work and all the tools I use are fully paid for by my garage... Only snap-on is allowed..

Last bit was sarcasm.

Never really had good or bad experiences until last year when we got broken into. Both spare keys for both cars were stolen and had 2 very different experiences with main dealers. We bought my wife's car of Fitzpatricks in Kildare town off the salesman Niall. Lovely guy throughout the whole experience of test driving and buying the car. Anyhow came home on a Friday to find the house robbed, dropped Niall a text on his mobile explaining what had happened and could he advise me on what to do regarding the keys. This was Christmas week aswell. Got a call off him at 2am apologising for his late call but he was at a wedding and only checked his fone late on. He told me he get everything sorted and ring me on Monday. 9.05am Monday morning he called again and asked could we come up Tuesday morning to have the key that was stolen deleted from the car. Sorted everything free of charge. Rang the nearest Subaru dealer to me in Ballinrobe and explained to the guy my situation and could they provide me with new keys and locks for my car. This was covered free on my house insurance so I told him I didn't care how much it cost to replace them that my insurance would be covering the full cost. He had no interest at all. Told me it would be at least a month before they could get in the parts and that he would ring me back after Christmas. Needless to say I'm still waiting on the call. I had bought a car of these guys previously aswell. Ended up ordering everything myself and fitted them over Christmas. I guarantee the next car we buy will be off Niall in Fitzpatricks. Good salesmen and after service are very hard to come by.
