Difference of version5 and version6

She has a version 6 spoiler on her. That would be one of the biggest cosmetic changes from the 5 to 6 model.
 
Only cosmetic differences i gather... Rear spoiler has an angled up rear lip on it ....and they have a front lip spoiler.

V6 where from Aug 99 on... mine is an early V6 one too being a Sept 99 reg. car.
 
On 6th sept 1999, the very last of the old shape impreza upgrades was announced. The ultimate g-series / version VI wrx was offered once again in the same range of 11 varients, including v-limited versions of the type r and type ra two-doors and a v-limited version of the sti ra VI four door.
Very minor changes greeted the version VI. The colour pallete was altered so that black was no longer available and cashmire yellow was introduced for the sti and sti ra, while interior colours also changed. On the mechanical side an up-rated clutch was the only major improvment. Bullet-shaped door mirrors were now available as an option to decrease weight and improve aerodynamics
Once again there were limited edition version VI imprezas. These were: wrx sti ra version VI limited saloon(2000 units), wrx ra limited saloon(1000 units), wrx type r sti version VI limited coupe(1000 units) and the wrx sti version VI limited sports wagon(500 units). These all featured rays 16" alloy wheels, an exclusive instrument panel, aluminium pedals, sti titanium gear knob (except ra limited), serial number plaque, `cherry red` emblem (except the wrx ra limited which was black), and `exclusive` body colour.

Japs brought that in in 2000 I think. My 2001 Legacy requires clutch in to start.

my oo sti doesnt have this clutch in start thing, ive never heard of anyone ownin a scooby and needin to do this
