DIY Spraying Bumpers

Hi All,

Would this be a foolish idea best left to the pro's or has anybody tried to spray their bumpers?

Just a few lil bits on the bumper I would like to tidy up but money tight to get them re-sprayed

Cheers Lads :smokin:

its not easy and would be just as expensive to do yourself as the cans that you can get made up cost 20euro each and you would need two pr bumper, you also have filler, primer, laqer and all the prep stuff to.

metalic paints are harder to do to.

get a real sprayer to do it!imo

Cheers for that

Suppose no point doing a half arsed job and having the bumpers in a hack

I love the way yer man on wheeler dealers (ed hardy ) makes it look so easy ....

i tried to do a simple job myself years ago on a motorbike helmet (replica of ayrton sennas helmet if your interested), and let me tell ya it aint just a matter of pushing the button on top of the can ....
lots of sanding , prepping , priming , masking , trying to spray evenly is impossible ,

its pure heartache , and is best left to the pro's

Done a good bit of sprayin... small jobs with aerosol cans... and using a proper spray gun to do a whole car!

It's just not worth it... especailly as Johnny mentioned if metallic which is heart breakingly difficult! Solid colours aint that bad.... but it just isn't worth the guff. A lot of new spray paint is water based too which needs to be dried in baking ovens... or under UV lamps and if you try let dry normally it can take weeks to properly harden wiht the risk of it being marked in the meantime!
