Does anyone know this Type R on Donedeal?

Looks suspiciously like a car I had a deposit on back in 2004. Owner bought it new in the UK as he worked there... And brought it back. He was a Roscommon lad called Sean. Car was on English plates when I looked at it and had a very low 18k kilometers on it at the time and was mint. Gave him a substantial enough deposit and never saw him again. I subsequently found out it had been damaged and he choice to do a runner rather than renegotiate the price with me. I could be wrong on this... But it is the spit of the car I viewed... The wheels being the big give away... and the low mileage too. But there is a chance I'm wrong too.

Nice one for the feedback Jamie

I think I'll be waiting awhile for something to pop up, finding a good Type R for sale's like finding a pile of rocking horse poop.

There is a chance it's different car. This might not be it and might be a genuine car.

I'd ring him and see if he knows any history on it or previous owner info. If it originated from Roscommon at some point on English plates then be wary as I think it had a bad front smack.

Also... if he says he knows the Sean fella who owned it first... or had a number for him... let me know coz I'd still love to pay him a visit for walking with my 500 euro deposit! :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

I bet ye would

Yea I've been onto him already, he didn't seem to know too much about it. No service/parts history and unmapped... I think I'll leave it for something a l'il safer.

Back in 2004 jaskin71... a hard thing to forget and let slide though! :snooty:

He used to rent a room off my mate in Dublin too... that's how I came across the car... and he also walked owing several grand in rent too! :eek7:

I did get a number for his family home in Roscommon and rang and spoke to his poor elderly ma... explained what happended and to say she was appalled would be an understatement... but never got anywhere with it as he skipped back over to the UK soon after he shifted the Type R onto some poor other soul.

I was 8 months looking for a clean type r.. Lots of people have different ideas of "clean" though, apparently having the quarter panel torn out of it is still clean to some people.

In saying that there have been a few type r's which have popped up over the last few months that are new so you never know.
