Sunday Drivers
Ok lads, this is my first post, and NOT the way i wanted it to be. My name is Paul, im 20 going on 10, im a first year trainee manager in a 5 star hotel called Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny I bought a 00 :subaru: WRX in August last and have loved every second ive been in it, even putting €100 in it every week just to get to work but thats a different matter.
Because of work and such i havnt posted here before, ive looked around a bit about parts but nothing too much, yesterday (08/01/10) my brother came into me to get a loan of my car to go study in college. I live in Killeshen in Laois and hes in IT Carlow, with the weather thats in it his golf wasnt in the mood to get out our drive as we live on top of a very large hill, so having a sick note from work i was taking advantage and staying late in bed so said yes no problem, ten minuted later my phone vibrates and i fear the worst, and yes it was THE WORST. He hit a very bad patch of ice and put it through two fences, with minor cuts to the head he was ok but my car was not so lucky. I kept a cool head and got in the jeep and drove down to him, it was in off the road, he was safe and hadnt killed anyone, so i was very thankful. Got him to the doctor, gave the lady who owned the house my number and said id take care of everything so thats grand. Tow truck driver got it out within ten minutes and only charged me €50 , really nice lad. Didnt know the extent of the damage to the engine so had a look around, stake went through the radiator so thats dead, front end got pushed back and cracked the timing belt housing so prayed it was ok, it started on the first turn, happy days, all the wheels were facing in the same direction and no obvious damage to them, getting better, the whole front end was totaled so could see there was no damage to the wishbones on the front and the back was fully straight, put it into gear and it drove straight and true, all be it with a lot of scraping from the bumper being wrapped up underneath. Got it to my next door neighbors who just happens to be a panel beater and hes lookin at the chassie damage tomorrow, so my hunt begins!!!!
Im looking for parts to get this beautiful beast of a car back on the road asap!!!!
If any of you guys can help me out to get parts that would be so so so helpful and i would be so grateful!!!!!

My list so far includes (and this is just from looking around myself)
Front bumper
Headlights
Turbo bonnet
front spots
driver and passenger front wings
drivers door including glass
drivers side rear door including glass
radiator
front full set of slam pannels
interior front book reading light housing (the two spots on the roof by the rear view mirror)

im gonna post a few pics before and after aswell

good to see there is a positive attitude to go with it man.......
stick up some pics of the damage and progress as ya move along

Sorry to hear about your troubles fella... :icon_sad: glad no one was hurt!

From the pics and description of damage... is it worth trying to repair it? Whats the story with insurance and have you no claims bonus protection.? Was your brother covered to drive it? :dontknow:

As AndyC says... it'll never be the same and unless a top job is done....which would cost big bucks... and you may be always disappointed in condition of car after repairs if you try and go the cheaper route .

Have you considered a re-shell if it's bad? DS sill looks nasty along with round rear leading edge of rear DS door. How's the B pillar and the floorpan... any underside damage?

I hope you get sorted..
