drive-ability

Does any one know if you lose drive-ability if you fit 18 inch alloys on a classic, especially one with big power.

JPtypeRA has 18's and as everyone seen on track as well as the road his car handles like a train.

Evoman: I'm on 18" as well.. you may have a round in my train on the next meet to compare if you like

Same here and no problems. You may need to get your arch's rolled, not too expensive though

Cheers lads, I heard a few people saying that they dont handle as well when on 18s. I will take yer word on it.

Tough choice you have!
As far as I know, you can go as wide as 215/35/18, but you can fit 225/40 on 17"s an the bigger sidewall would give better traction and better grip on bumpy/ rough surfaces!

Im actually lookin for a smaller set of wheels for my motor.... Although it is comfortable and all on the 18's I just think i prefer the look of a slightly smaller rim with a bit more sidewall on the tyre and as Dan pointed out there I can go that little bit wider on the foot print then too.....
