Anyone ever drive in paris, Will be working there all next week.heard a few lads in work saying they are pretty mental and that i should just use taxi's to get around. Rent the smallest car i can and i think it should be alright!

Havent driven there but being a passenger in a taxi was hairy enough! They seem to plough straight onto roundabouts and traffic on the roundabout gives way. There wasnt much in the line of road markings either so not easy to tell whose in the right lane on them either.

That seemed to be the worst of it. Think they use horns as soon as a light turns green so if ya do drive take no notice of anyone beeping at ya.

Could be a bit of fun

a friend of mine drove into paris and his satnav didnt work in city centre with the high buildings and it took him ages to get out of there and when out the satnav wanted to bring him tru it again to get where he wanted to go... nightmare is what he called it lucky somone wasnt killed..

bring a map..

Would have to agree with everyone on this, never drove but was there a twice and found the driving crazy especially round l'arc de triomphe. Its just a free for all , much quicker to use metro etc.

Use a push bike. Much better way to get killed. Oh and change you will and leave you legacy to me. I'll look after it for you. :subaru:

Hire a car
Fully covered ,with all excess s
Give it a whirl
I ve drove there a couple of times great fun
But expect to get lost but that half the fun unless your in a rush
No worse than Dublin for road manners of other drivers

Is this not irish subaru DRIVERS club? Or. Irish subaru drivers(when not to hard) club?
Amazing the amount of people who are advising not to drive , come on .......
I am not saying it's very easy but it's not like the Dan is looking about driving a 18 wheeler through a shopping centre with a Russian bride trying make him happy in order to get her visa ,whilst he is on the phone to Obama discussing the front suspension of his caddy ( the Obama s of moneygal) ,and the local customs trying to dip him for green diesel, and to make it worse he can't plug in the sat nav to the 12v socket as the Russian bride has some foreign object plugged in and it's making a strange buzzing noise :afro:

P.s I think you should give it a go

^^ post of the month Denis!

I think ill give the rental car a go lads, i won't be going anywhere near that mental roundabout, ill have a load of equipment to haul around between different locations for the week so i dont fancy lugging that around on the buses or metro.

i Will have the full insurance cover as i'll be getting the corporate rate from Hertz so i dont care if i make sh*t of the car, it would be a different case if it was in the Legacy!

@Eric, i would leave the Legacy to you but i dont think you could handle "da powa"!

Get a little Babus smart car or something!!! From experience, bigger cars are more of a target!!!
If you hesitate at all you'll get eaten alive
Drive like you own the road
The man with the bigger sack overthere is the man who is right!!!
Takes balls to drive in Paris city centre but the suburbs etc are cool

youll have great crack in a rental as you can drive the sh*t out of it and scare a few people.

rental all the way

Dennis im lost :ponder2:

Is the Buzzing foreign object plugged into the 12v socket or into the russian bride? :ponder2:

Or Maybe its Dan that should be the foreign object thats buzzing cause he is plugged into the Russian Bride??
 Either way sounds interesting to me

Worst is the Arc de Triumph, an over sized 16 lane roundabout with 13 different exits.

Plus there is no insurance cover on the L'arc de roundabout. Sure use the launch control and ye'll be fine, yearah.

all i can say is they are fcukin mental drivers over here, Made it from airport to Hotel alive with no collisions im aware of!

Drove there last year. Everything you hear about drivers is true. They are all lunatics.

depends where you are centre or the outskirts, centre can be bade especialy the arc(i sat there once and watched a car going around about 10 times before he was able to make the exit) the outskirts are ok to drive..
