dynapack dyno of my legacy 2004

I had bad dealing with them but, that was a long time ago!
In fairness lads! That skyline is only shocking! so fair play for that, It breaks the front drive shafts every second time it drives,
But that makes it half as fast as a car that runs reliably
Hence Jomo's Evo winning timeattack championship with 400bhp
Regarding figures, A bit high alright but fook it! Echo you have 290 dyno proven bhp! That's a fact, be happy!
Dan

Just dont think its fair that you pay money to the likes of tdp for a rr session and they give you a figure thats off, i know rr are never bang on but.
I just think they stick your car up get it rolled and get it off as quick as possible and give you some mad figure.
I just dont think its right, but hay thats just me.
By the way im not knocking you motor its a fine example

that did not happen today i was on the actualy dyno for 35mins the car after me was an hour Robbie even fixed the timing no the last car and fixed the boost gives it 70bhp more he didnt have to do this but he did

The front is standered on jap legacy as far as i know
Always run e5
its the first dyno the car has ever had there dyno has 08 software so its good enough
Dan iv looked over the engine alot as you do ,there is not aftermarket parts wise in the engine but BOV same as you there is some different parts on the car brakes there Version V brakes on it suspension different its at 1.07 boost acording to the graf thats all i know about it.
Nah its definetly a front lip on the standard bumper, i have same bumper as yours minus the lip! What do you mean about Version V brakes? Must put mine on their dyno and see what i get

ya the girl who owns torque-irl works there there should be another on in a weeks just put your name down
Robbie said 98-00 v5 scooby brakes up front 316mm

standard on the bl5 leggy is 323mm discs up front, not sure about rear. you have the Tein coilovers on yours too ya?

Was in cda trying to get some could get them pro parts said there different too
Ya there is Tein coilovers mucky pic

ye i was in proparts before trying to get some front pads, we ended up having to take the pad out and tracing it , to find a match. Turns out it has the same pad as the Tribeca! Standard 2 pot calipers you have on yours. Is that a STI front Strut brace i see in the 2nd pic?

lovely car and looks great in black. Lots of negative reports over the years about tdp especially regarding outrageous rolling road outputs!

I remember talking to Martin Tracey in Enfield once who told me 5 lads arrived in with Toyota GT4s for a rolling road session. They had been on the rollers in Extreme in Waterford before with one car putting out over 350bhp. The same cars on Martins rollers put out massively less with the best car just breaking 250bhp! Take dynos with a pinch of salt. If you want the most reliable figures I'd say go to Enfiled. He's been in the business the longest and anyone who knows Martin will tell you he's not out to inflate anyone's ego. He seen and heard it all and tells it like he sees it. On E5 your should be somewhere between 265 and 275 realistically unless there's some mods to the exhaust and intake. No matter you have a lovely car but Robbie's dyno figures have been known to give feel good factor whereas Martin's have burst quite a few bubbles over the years. I wouldn't worry about it but if you want to put your mind at rest then Westward Engineering in Enfield will give you as close a figure as rollers are likely to give.

Actually that type of dyno is more accurate than martins as there are no losses through the wheels or tyres...I can vouch for the accuracy of that dyno we had a dyno day with our vzrs a few years back and all the figures where around 170-173..the car is quoted @ 173 on standard fuel..this 102 octane lark as well that people are going on about..it 100 octane the cars are rated on.. if he was running 99 it would be able to adjust with knocking timing...plus he has already said the car is running 1.07 bar of boost which is above standard with sti exhaust..i cants ee why it shouldn't be making an extra 10 or so bhp.
It is a fact that the dyno pak is more accurate than a rolling road..whether Robbie is the most honest regarding the figures after he has carried out work ..i dont know i wont debate that but echo had no work done no reason to lie to him..I love the fact that people are speculating your power figure based on a calculation they seem to be making regarding octane ratings for fuel.
plenty of cars came out of japan dynoing above there factory quoted figure go look it up..standard type r's have made 290...gtr's..gto's.. supras..they where all sticking to the gentlemans agreement of 280ps.
Might seem hypocritical of me as i was questioning the a1 rr figures but they where way off....I don't think its unreasonable to assume a car running extra boost and exhaust could run an extra 15bhp.
I'm not defending that nob in tdp either just so we know..the lad has 290 proven from THE most accurate way of measuring the flywheel power that we know..I don't think any of us here have the knowledge to doubt..fair play echo good figures...but the ones at the hub are the ones that count

but if the car is standard performance wise bar the sti genome back boxes, how could it be boosting at 1.07? i thought standard was 1 bar. mine is at 1 bar and only made 267(insert :jealous: icon here!)

My last car i had(Altezza) i got it dyno'ed in 3 different places.

1st in Westward: made 196.5 in standard form(running on unleaded 95)
2nd: in ECC after installing E85 kit it made 217
3rd in some place in waterford(cant think of the name!) it made 190 with same setup as on ECC rollers!

I said i wouldnt waste my money on any more dyno runs with the legacy but was itching to get one run in. Got it done in CDA, lads were saying it was running very lean, same as their EVO would run around Mondello etc.maybe they were just being overly cautious. Lads i was with with Altezza's were only making 160-180 on the day. So i think its safe to say some dyno's can be fiddled with to make cars seem like they are the bees knees and all that , whereas other dyno's are setup to give you the most accurate possible reading for the power output of your car. Its hard to know who's dyno we should trust the most. As at the end of the day they are all out to make money from these dyno days and want to keep the punters coming back!

just my 2 cents :icon_hang:

as dagnut said not all cars were strictly kept under the 280 in japan , so with raised boost and exaust why not an extra 15 bhp. 291bhp is not a mad claim (remember the wrx with induction kit and intercooler getting 330 bhp)

@dan 1 bar sounds very low for your car, bob rawle told me he set the boost in mine at 1.3 bar when he mapped it (even shows more on the defi boost gauge)
thatnks alot of good info there

At the end of the day lads 291.6 is engine power im only putting down 216whp on the road
this figure is more important to me and i hope to be bringing it up to 350 at fly and 280 on the road soon
