R Rob Spec C Octane Boostaholics Feb 14, 2010 #3 You can get an ecutek licence and get your current ECU mapped to suit the 2.5 or you can get a simtek/solaris ecu to replace the original ECU. one way or another though, it will have to be mapped to suit the new engine

J JollyGreenMonster Octane Boostaholics Feb 15, 2010 #8 98 ecu cannot be remapped.. replacement aftermarket ecu such as simtek required. just to check it is a model year 98 and not a model year 99.. is the coilpack in the centre or offset to the right? model year 99 from august 98 is mappable with ecutek you see.. Simon

J JollyGreenMonster Octane Boostaholics Feb 15, 2010 #14 Yep aftermarket ecu required.. best for the money is a SimTek but that is a reasonable out ly you didn;t plan for
