Elbow on turbo pipe

Hi All. When i had my car for the underbody job, my mechanic said there's a leak of oil from somewhere under the intercooler. He said he'll investigate when it goes for service to see what it is.

My question is, should the elbow protruding from the pipe be there? The block underneath is also damp with oil so im guessing my turbo seals are probably wearing too.

That piece on the bend is normal , it’s to help get the elbow back onto the turbo outlet when refitting the intercooler

Doesn’t look too wet in there .
If there was oil coming out of the pipe , you’d also have a boost leak, I’d say it possibly a cracked or leaking breather pipe in that general area ,

It's more wet underneath but i can't get a good photo, might get a better one tomorrow in daylight. Good to know that elbow is normal though.

I don't notice any boost leak at least. He did say there is a drop in the intercooler pipe itself. Thanks for that info Baz, investigations to come. Oil level remaining good.

The bit that’s in the intercooler is normal , it’s just the bit that’s pulled in from the breathers ,
To properly investigate its intercooler off and possibly inlet manifold

Definitely true that 😂. Even looking at it is a dread. Service in two weeks or that so shall see. Thanks Baz

Pcv block up and the plastic T into the block usually cracks or the pipes go hard .

If removing use a heat gun to heat up the pipes and make them a little softer to stop then cracking
