ok... so got a cd player installed and now the clock, km. and climate control and the cd player itself all reset after shutting the engine. it must be a single wire thats not connected properly. Had a look and the only suspicious is the purple/orange one. anyone know whats that for? BTW i found this manual online for legacys 98-03 but cant figure it out :wall: :wall:
Manual http://rover800.gaima.co.uk/www.cor...SvcManuals/GEN3 Lib Svc/Liberty_1998_2003.pdf IT WILL TAKE A WHILE TO LOAD :comp26:

Recently wired in a cd player in my wagon.

And looking at your 2nd picture, i curious about why there is a yellow going to a red

and red to yellow. Thought it was always a good idea to have matching colours.

This might be why your cd player is "loosing" its memory.

Match these colours and hopefully that'll do the trick.

i see that now, but if you look back further the wires they switch colours again :ponder2: i might give that a try, the worse that can happen is a blown fuse..

Its likely you have the permanent live & the ignition live mixed up alright. Means that the radio etc doesn't have a permanent feed

Thats it, sometimes you can splice/join the yellow and the red together going
into the red(live) so you don't get memory loss. Hope you get it sorted.

Red and yellow are constant positive and ignition positive. these sometimes have to be crossed over depending on both the car and the radio. The orange wire is usually an illumination wire, comming positive when the lights are switched on.
