engine failure

hey all... as most of you know i have my car up for sale,the car what i thought was 100 per cent prefect, it give up on me on friday eve, was headin to the cinema wen an increasing tapping came into the engine.. by the time i go 6 miles futher it was very noticable.. so i turned back.. i thought i might get it home but was probably the worst decision i made.. :icon_sad: the car cut out after another 4 miles.. and it sounded bad.. i think its the bottom end thats gone.. which brings me to ask.. any suggestions on were the best place to get it fixed and how much maximum am i lookin at payin??? :ponder:

sorry to hear this man.......i wouldnt wish it on anyone.......as above some of the traders should be able to help or point ye in the right direction

Sorry to hear that, Same happened to me at the start of my ISDC days, as I'm sure is the case with a few lads here,
It was the advise and support that I got from certain club members that has me still here now!
Best of luck with her, you never know.........It might be something simple (doubt it though) :icon_sad:

Theres also another trader coming on board that does this type of thing to. Hopefully they will be set up here soon.

sound damo.. i would say it will be awhile before i do get chance to rebuild.. but least i will still have da car!!! :subaru:
 
Sorry to hear about the engine, same thing happend me last December, only got round to putting an engine in it 2 weeks ago....Keep your eyes open for a crashed scooby with a good engine you can hear running......best of luck with it.....do you know why the engine failed? Was it a jap car running on Irish Petrol?
 
i dont rightly know da cause of it yet, i think da crank shaft is da cause of it.. she is jap import.. it still starts but sounds really rough in da bottom end.. i dont think its too bad.. but prob still a costly job!!!
 
Big end failure would probibly be down the oil problems,
Too long between chances or low levels! also doughnuts are a killer due to the oil going to one side of the sump and the pick up sucks air instead of oil!

ya i would say the car before i got it.. hadn't seen fresh long for a long tme.. i changed it 3 times in 6months but iwould say da damage was already there.. as for doughnuts... she couldn't do them.. :thumbsup:
