Engine knock

Yea and he seems dead on too it's a bit cheaper if I lift the engine myself so I might even do that.
That could cover the price of my timing belt kit every little helps.
 
Top man is Ali , done work on my car and you'd never know the engine was out , perfectionist i think describes him pretty well .and he aint hard to pay imo
 
might aswell do the timing belt since its all coming off anyway, you can get a kit from ICP for fairly cheap with same bearing etc as in subaru kits. Are you going to build it a bit stronger? I would do minimum sti rods and pistons while its apart. hone and skim the block pressure check heads etc, its hard to know when/where to stop "ah sure while the engines out"!
 
Yea Dan I think I will just more as a belt and braces job,but I don't think I'll be looking for more bhp as is never know where to stop.
But budget will have to be strict,herself wants my to burn it of leave it on the side of the road with door open:(
 
Thanks for the help lads I will keep ye posted on the rebuild it's in my garage now ready for engine out could take me a few evenings as I get spare time.

Thanks Ian because that I don't have,I always wanted to buy one for the garage but as an electrican I would have limited use for one and didn't want to tempt faith!!
 
Ha good stuff my brother went to oz as well and left behind a lovely pillar drill but no engine crane:)
Thanks Scoobysub ill have to transport the engine to Dungannon would strapping down to a pallet be safe for transit.
 
ye be perfect :thumbsup: a couple of wood blocks screwed to the pallet to stop it from moving or falling over :thumbsup:

Work has started this evening on getting out my engine just done a few hours.

- fluids out
- rad out
- battery out
- air box out
- intercooler out
- turbo out
- few wires disconnected

Hope to get back to it tomorrow evening.
 
Mine is an Auto is there anything I need to look out for there I think that makes my Life a little better!maybe?
