Engine Swap

Probably a stupid question but I'm fairly new to the whole Subaru world. Just wondering is the B4 Legacy Engine block a direct fit into imprezas (if any models at all).

I'm just thinking about buying a car with a blown engine as I have an engine sitting at home and trying to figure out if I'm just limited to Legacy's or if it's a straight swap for imprezas too.

no.

as oil feed etc to primary turbo on passenger head. have seen these being blocked up but then yur getting into botch jobs.

also the legacy engine is high compression.

The block would work. Dave is talking about dropping in a full engine where you are talking about using the bottom end of legacy and heads off your blown engine.
You could mess around with your gasket thickness and lower the comp ratio if it was going to be too high... Or you could mess around and come up with a custom ratio above the IMPREZA and below the legacy and map the car to make benefit.
8.5:1 comp ratio is a fairly commonly used one.
