exhaust question

Alrite lads I was thinkin of buyin this exhaust system, the fella that has it wont have it off probly till next week, he said its a 3inch fill system, it wasnt his car so he doesnt know much about the make or how it sounds..But I was wondering if its the hole way to engine will i need the downpipe aswell or would it fit my standard downpipe? Also would most aftermarket downpipes have a cat or not??? anyway heres the link mabey some of yous could recognise the brand of it by the pics? Thanks

Its more than likely from the down pipes back cant really tell from you link as it only shows the tail pipe. My B4 passed emmissions with only the cat in the downpipes as far as I remember. you might need the driver side down pipe as it may be aftermarket aswell to fit a full 3 " system
 
wat you mean I might need the drivers side downpipe? Are the downpipes not welded together as standard? is there a chance that he has a aftermarket downpipe that only fits thay exhaust soif so id need to buy the whole lot...

No they come apart. The center section is connected to the end of the drivers side downpipe which may be aftermarket to suit the 3" system .

Oh yeah thats standard, ive a spare one of them in the shed, so if its a 2 and half inch cat back it should fit my downpipe, ill kno more next week when he takes it of the car.
