Hi Folks if I did get a new exhaust on my car would I have to tweek the map on the car or would it be safe to just change the exhaust and should I go for a complete de cat or what many thanks John L.
 
you would need a remap to reach its full potential, also afaik if you fit a decat you may get boost spikes without a map..somebody will confirm if theres any safety issues with it.if you fit full decat system then youd have to change back for nct. imo decat all the way, or a sports cat but ive heard they are expensive
 
As Mark says the sports decats are very expensive but will pass the NCT so no need to swap the decat come NCT time. Personally I'd go for a sports decat as you are going to be paying labour to have the cat put back min for the test.
 
Thank lads I just went from cat back on a stainless steel Magnaflow system with an option to de cat if I want, if I de cat would it be very loud and how soon would I have to re map many thanks John L
