Hi folks
I am going to build a full new stainless steel exhaust from the headers back what would best size pipe to use 2inch or 2.5inch to help the engine breath better...
Cheers
Jay
standard is 2.25 so 2.5 would be grand. Diameter doesn't matter a whole lot on the NA engines, but best to stay the same or bigger than standard.
Bigger diameters along with being a straight through will give you more noise, NA engines will end up being a lot louder than a turbo engine.
I had a 2.25 into 2.5 into 3 inch on my 2 litre non turbo and it was loud as fu*k and very raspy, I had to weld an extra silencer into it. Sounded perfect after that
That's for the reply...use to building motorbikes exhaust so just wanted to double check incase there something I might be missing building the car exhaust
Currently running a 2.5 inch system with a resonator in the midpipe into a japsport/toyosport back box ( can’t remember which ). Not that loud and has a pleasant rasp off of it, I have it paired to some unequal length headers from Mtuning.pl
