Exiting stage left, and wanted to say thanks for all the help over the years.

Hi Guyz,

Yesterday l left the Kingdom of Permanent AWD, and entered into the Republic of Quattro:
06-XX-STI is gone to a better place, to someone who knows much better than me what he is doing with it.

The republic of quattro is a quite amazing place where everything (and least of all the gear changes) happen automatically, but it does not seem to be as a distinctive and madly exciting place as STI-land....

I just wanted to say a very genuine thanks to everybody who has helped me with questions so much over the years.
It has been 4 great years and 165,000 km with the hawkeye.
In years to come I'm sure I'll echo the words of someone else at work who was often reported to have said "it was the best car I ever owned".

Thanks again,

Tom

A6 V6 TDI S Line Plus Black Edition 3.0 Quattro pre chipping (lesser bhp version)
..... and some blue car beside it ....

I parked the new one beside the Scoob to take a couple of pics. For no reason I could see the STI's Clifford proximity sensor went off as I was getting stuff out of the drivers side of the A6....
I swear the STI knew what was going on :icon_cry:

Nice Motor Tom... good luck with her!

I just went from an A4 avant Quattro 3.0tdi back to an '07 STI Hawkey... Audi is quick enough, very economical for the power you get and yes, can be chipped quite significantly though I never bothered as was fine the way it is. Have my Quattro up for sale now if anyone else is interested in a foray into Quattro-land...
