Lads what extra security features do you have on your car i have a clifford alarm & immobiliser.
The reason i ask is there was a car broken into in the underground car park of my apartment last night and they took the fob off the gates.
Lets try to remember not to give new members a bashing.
As pointed out we would stay clear of posting security devices as fitted to our cars on an open forum. Having a clifford alarm/immobiliser like you say would be tops amongst security devices though & if fitted with blackjax then they're gonna have a hard time stealing your car. Most likely they would have to flatbed it out of there due to the racket it would cause.
Cheers Brian i only bought my car 3 days ago as i said it does have the alarm and immobilser, i was just wondering about chains or steering locks are they any use i apologise if i gave the wrong impression.
To be honest steering locks & chains are only a deterrent if your car in particular isn't the target & the thief will happily move on to the next car on the block. If they want your car bad enough they'll take it. Things like that will only delay them by a minute or two maximum.
The things you mention along with the clifford will serve to act as a further deterent so they move on and find something easier to steal. Whatever you can think of to get that will hinder them will only help
sorry didnt know you were a new member but want really giving a bashing!. Maybe talk to management company and get them to improve their security systems. stick up a camera or two, motion lighting etc. nothing will stop them once there in the car park but visual, audible deterrents are a start. if enough people complain about it they should do something
lads i live in tallaght if they want ur car they will take it clifford or no cliford i have a mate who had an imprezza with a full clifford proxi sensors woke up one morning and his mams car was in the middle of the road and his pride and joy was gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!another mate woke up to 4 lads kicking in his front door for the keys as they couldnt bypass the immobiliser its a harsh reality but if they really want it there aint much ya can do
Thats the best advice i can give you..... That and a tracker!!! As has been said.... Alarms and immobilers unfortunately only seem to act as something to slow the thieves down these days.
A mate had all the security on his car you could ever want and they still tried to take it. Bypassed the alarm, Brought another steering wheel with them as he had a snap off boss on his and the wheel was in the house and the only thing that stopped them was the blackjacks... So they pushed it up the road with another car that they robbed from accross the road to make sure they took it away... Found not far away burnt out cause they couldnt start it....
Park your car in safest most well lit area possible. Point a camera straight at it if possible. Motion sensored lighting if needed.
Hide all valuables and dont advertise that your car is worth stealing.....
Ring the Maintenance company and tell them yours installing a Road pole..... (the yoke that sticks out of the ground). they wont want you to do that so they will come up with something else instead
