was driving down the new m2 motorway last nite in the rain ,doing around 120 -130 k, then all i feel is a massive bang like hitting a wall . could not stop cause it was lashing down

so limped it to a mates house to have a look at the damage . :angry1: :angry1: :angry1:

took the front wheel off and the wheel had a massive crack in it (fooked)

So got up this morning to go and see what i hit and it was a block of wood and i hit that hard it broke in half.

does anyone know what the story with claiming off the corpo :angry1: :angry1: :angry1:

might be tough jp!!!
you gotta prove that it was on the road unlike a physical pothole!!!
band luck mate...sh1t night to be out driving anywhere!!!!
:ponder2: :ponder2:

ye claimin off county councils, i heard its easier to get blood out of a stone, you ring them up to complain and all you will hear is that its not my department. sorry

That wreaks man, sorry to hear!! :icon_cry:
Yeah, you'd have more chance of winning he lotto than getting something...anything out of the council!!

you can get a payout on pothole damage pretty easy.....
have made probably 5 or 6 over the years between my cars, her car and my mothers car.....
handy to have the auld camera in the glovebox!!!

got a payout a few years back meself for a cracked rim after i hit a pothole....just find yourself a big pothole and take a pic of it, i wouldnt even mention that you hit a block of wood coz ull probably get no satisfaction off um

will do man gonna have a look around tommorow for a few big ones , hopefully get something out of them :wall:

and if they ask ya how you didnt see the pothole just tell um it was full of rain water  keep us posted

Feckin roads indeed!! I managed to rip of the front splitter.... not really the roads fault... i just went too fast of a small bump!! :icon_sad:

As mentioned ... you need to find a pothole as they won't take responsibility for debris on the road. You need to find a pothole that's been around a while and repaired before as they won't payout on ones that have just appeared. Theory is that if they repair one and it comes back...they're repsonsible. A lot of chasing up and letters involved and make sure to put in about 25% extra as they never pay out the full amount. :angry1: Best of luck!

I just gave up on a claim even though i had pictures of the pothole which had been repaired and had been dealing with this girl who ONLY WORKS ON WEDNESDAYS????? the receipt i had for the wheels was hand written so no money for me. it only took 6 months for them to tell me no.
Sorry to hear bout your strife fella

I've always been successful and with it usually taking about 2/3 months to sort... you just have to persist. :new_argue: : :hammerhead: :angry1: It probably depends on which local council your claiming off and how much funds they have to pay out on claims...
