The white golf in the 3rd video, is that the chap that was on about racing you for the last while?

brilliant tt looked very well out there, i think people have more respect for there cars on the vip days. its like the difference between a meet and a cruise.FRAWLS said:Great vids Ciaran.
That was me in the red Audi TT. It was my first time driving her in track and she was brilliant to drive. I Have to say was well impressed with the whole day unlike the following day when I was back in Mondello in a Teg Type R for the Open Day. It was pure carnage with a red Impreza waggon slamming into the wall and being absolutely destroyed. I have photos on my phone if anyone can tell me how to upload them. Also another Scooby went into the gravel trap at the last bend leading on to the pit straight and had to be towed to the paddock (dont know if it was damaged though).
Another teg type R (a black one was destroyed in a major off as was an Elise and a prelude). Finally a Mitsi Mivec only got around the first turn before his bonnet blew up and smashed his windscreen. TBH if you'd never been at a track day before you'd never drive at one after this. I think it was because of the open pit format and guys forgetting to come in and cool their brakes, tyres and oil. Most of the guys out there stayed out way way too long and the results were obvious.
The open pit worked perfectly on Friday at the VIP day as the guys there seemed far more clued in and there was a lot of respect for each others cars and safety in general although one guy who git black flagged for driving around with his petrol cap open spilling fuel all over the track didn't come in for 4 laps. Where did he think he was going to go?

i'm guilty of too much speed in the corners too, but with slicks you can get away with it. sometimes the fast way can be a bit boring thou.FRAWLS said:Cheers man. Your 205 handles beautifully. TBH I was surprised at how quick my TT was and I got a lot of lads looking at her with a kind of WTF look on their faces when I arrived but as the day went on I got a few nods of "conspicious" appreciation. Even my passenger said it was way quicker than my old MY 03 remapped WRX. Mondello seems to favour a good set- up rather than all out brute force. I got a few passenger laps in Mondello's new BMW 120d with Ian. He is some driver and oh so smooth through the bends. One thing I noticed was that I brake far too late for bends so next time I'll try the slow in fast out approach.
