What ya's recon? It doesnt do away with the Cat tho.....
Not doin away with the cat is both good and bad but want your opinions

1. Cat stays in so there fore car remains NCT friendly, but more restrictive
2. Cat removed meaning less NCT friendly but less restrictive

What way would you go?

i always get the cat out! that system and a de-cat down pipe would be nice :smokin: i just dont like restrictive cats in my exhaust

250 as above 2.5"
350ish with decat section..... Is that not a bit expensive for decat pipe?
(prices in stg.)
plus delivery

Thought u had a classic... the small pipe in the picture above is off
a euro newage car.
Straight through Centre section and backbox is perfect up grade for
a classic and you will still pass nct.

Cat is in the Downpipe on classic so no problem
for NCT with aftermarket centre section and backbox fitted.
or as above full decat and put downpipe on for NCT.
plus it's always good to buy a system that fits up to original
Downpipe.

ya but thats 3 parts, back box, center section and down pipe. Right way to go lad but make sure you re map straight away

Cheers Brian....
Nur-Spec is sold as seen even tho it is 2 seperate sections...... Thats why i said 2 instead of 3
Gathering up the bits before i start the transformation process.... Could be 4 - 6 months before i have everything i want and start building

sorry for hi-jack but do you need a re-map for:
1) back box only change
2)back box and centre-section change leaving cat

Thanks

Not a hijack when its on topic lad.....

As far as i am concerned ya should remap when changing something significant.....
Someone please correct me if im wrong..... But exhaust sections will effect the backpressure in the engine and therefore need remapping to adjust the ignition timing to compensate??
Also fuel / air mixture could be a factor??

Still learning myself

if your changing standard down pipe to a decat, its very important to map as it will cause boost spike, which can melt a piston. Changing just back box might not be a big deal but i stand to be corrected

can you not put in a boost guage and regulator and adjust the boost so that your not over boosting?
seen one of the lads do this and the car is fine for the last year,

Remember havin a peco system on a clio years ago.... Jesus that thing was loud..... was able to hear it almost 1 mile away when it was bein given a bit of stick.......... PMSL

Forgive me if im wrong on this.... But surely there is no benefit to addin a decat system till the car is remapped and is told its not there any more... like the majority of upgrades they dont do alot of performance upgrading till the car knows they are there?

Not sure lad. I fitted a bigger turbo and decat system together and then had to wait a week or two for a map. So i dont know if you'll get any benifit from decat on its own, or even if its safe to do it............. :dontknow:
