Fuel Gauge & Lock nuts

Hey Guys,

Hope you can help me on the following...

Fuel Gauge - Just wondering if anything can be done to rectify the fuel gauge on MY98 Turbo 2000 awd? The gauge is stuck at the half way mark. When I fill the car the gauge moves to the full mark but only drops to the half way mark and stays there until I fill beyond that mark again. Any ideas on how to sort it out would be great. Trying to stay clear of replacing the clocks if possible.

Lock Nuts - Looking to find out what type of lock nuts I can get to fit the original wheels also. Having trouble locating nuts the same size as the original wheel brace in the car. Don't want to have to buy another wheel brace or socket adaptor. I had lock nuts on the car already but they need replacing as the lock nut key is damaged. Any advice on make of lock nut set and where I can get my hands on a set would be great.

Thanks
Kieran

Sensor is either fooked or getting stuck. It is located in the boot behind the seats on the drivers side. Take it up and see is it being restricted

Got locknuts in local motorfactors. No use buying cheap ones(will have a look and see what name they are.)have one of the wheelbraces with the four thingies on it and fits nicely inside the spare wheel

:smokin:

Shouldn't be a problem getting lock nuts to fit your existing wheel brace, they're usually sold in 17 or 19 mm heads so you must need 17mm if yours are small. Halfords or your local motor factors would have what you're looking for.

Personally I have an extendable wheel brace with twin head socket on it, 17mm one end & 19mm the other end, gives great leverage if theres a very tight nut on the car.

I just keep a long ratchet in the car!!! always handy if i need it....

Can be used for other uses if needed that way too

I've a full set of wheel/lock nuts for €25 if you want them. Unopened... Take the cover off the fuel pump behind the seats and lift out the whole assembly or get someone to do it for you if you're not confident. Theres a float on an arm that gauges the level. Might be getting stuck at half way ? Its a delicate little unit so just be careful lifting it out. You might need to disconnect the pipes there too so first undo the electric to it and start the car until it stops to depressurize the system. Just have a rag handy.....Hope you get it sorted
