Full de-cat downpipe vs sports cat downpipe

Anyone know how much difference there is power wise between the 2 obviously a sports cat would be the best option for emissions and NCT stuff, but full cat-less down be best for performance, What im wondering is the main difference between the two performance wise and also would a remap be needed after fitting a sports cat?

Could be wrong but I've heard the following figure mentioned before... Decat downpipe will give about 15-20BHP increase over the standard CAT and the very best sports CATs can get about 5BHP less than the decat. Depends on the sports cat though really as the flow rates would vary from make to make and you could get one that only gives 5BHP gain over standard CAT.

If you think about it logically (or the way i do anyway), you can put the standard cat back on the car for the NCT 2-3 times (4-6 years driving) before getting close to the price of a sports cat and you'll have the added performance
