Full size spare wheel

Got my Rota's back on the car after refurb :dance: and decided to buy a spare tyre for the spare one i had. it fits fine in the boot well with the tyre on , the only problem is that the bolt thing that secures the the wheel to the floor is too short for the bigger wheel. can longer ones be bought? also would the extra weight of the larger wheel and tyre have any negative affect on the car?
 
A longer bolt may be gotten from a different make/model car but if it was me I'd use a bolt or make up some kind of T bar on top of a bolt.

Can't imagine that a few extra Kg's will make any difference man, sure if you had a full tank of juice or something in the boot or extra passenger in the back it'd be worse :thumbsup:

Safest thing to do is get an old blanket or something soft that you can use to line the inside of the spare wheel well and put the spare wheel in front down (blanket stops it getting marked / scuffed)
That way ya should be able to use the origional bar to secure it into place....

ye i tried that, its still to short even face down.

Angle grinder to the wheel time then HAHA :doh: (im joking) how much too short is it?
 
does it raise the cardboard wheel cover from the floor dan???
might do the same coz i fear a puncture with 18's on my car

No the carpet stays flat but the foam tool pieces that were on top of the wheel don't fit but tools can be place inside the well i'd say.
