Fun in the snow

Drove across the green this evening from another estate
To get home quicker.my dinner was still warm.

Got the whole way from Drogheda to Maynooth yesterday without any incidents until I drove in the gate of the college into about a foot of snow and the car went 360! Plant the foot and AWD makes it look like nothing happened!! Left there at 4.40, sat in mile upon mile of tailbacks at Ratoath and Kilmoon Cross. Eventually got home at 5 to 9. Some people in this country haven't a clue how to drive in adverse conditions!

well said mark ,take no prisoners, past out a car on the clane /maynooth rood yesterday they were doing 15 kmh, then they wouldnt turn off there headlights after flashing at me for so long :cuckoo:

Took a spin up to halfords earlier to get some oil for the impreza, couldnt help but drift every single chance i got  i love 4wd :icon_pray:

put some winter tyres on today and OMg the difference is unreal. Highly recommended AWD + winter tyres = very impatient scooby driver!

i luv this weather !!!!!! laughing at fwd cars sitting on the spot ,and goin nowhere

and the awd has no problem, with a lil bit of sideways action jus to rub it in !!

Did you change all four wheels?
How much did it work out per tire?

wee scrappy is lovin the snowy stuff, just wish i had a big empty carpark nearby to test it's limits, tried steppin the back out on the road but it just won't lose grip below 80kmph and i'm not brave enough to try it any faster than that.

did a bit of sliding at halfords on Tue.

Its amazing when there are fewer cars on the road, you see a lot more Subarus. Grinning at all the poor fwd souls getting nowhere.

It's started raining in Cork - turning to ice after it lands though so total chaos on the roads!!

This from AA Roadwatch:

*MUNSTER* *CORK* The N25 Soutth Ring Rd is closed due to numerous crashes and abandoned cars near the old Kinsale Flyover and the route is treacherous from Midleton to Cork City. Blackstone Bridge should be avoided. * The N25 Cork/Midleton Rd is also blocked at the Carrigtwohill Bypass; where there are numerous multi vehicle crashes and vehicles gone off the road. * Avoid the Whitegate/Midleton Rd as Ballinacurra to the Lakeview R/A is impassable. * In West Cork, hazardous on all approaches to Bandon, with severe delays as a result. Roads also very bad around Macroom. Roads very icy in and around Bantry. Several car crashes and car abandoned.
