Fit a proper plate, cop was 100% correct imo.

Sticker plates are the job leave it on..never mind the lads they have little to be doing.

what are you talking about???? only one with little to be doing is someone who wants to dig up legal technicallities to try justify having an illegal plate, either man up and dont listen to the cop, or change the fookn thing... hardly need to start a thread about a stick on number plate

Seems like this thread got a good reply KenC so I think it was a great idea top put up a post about it. There are a few mixed reviews, which is what I was looking for.

It's not unreadable at all, it is the same as the normal, hence why I was asking. It's just because I only have pics that have the plate marked out. I take in all your points, thanks lads

Yea the thread got a few replies, most of which are mainly telling you to grow up in a polite manner, the plate is illegal, its lying almost flat ffs, everyone knows its illegal, truth known you know its illegal too and were chancing your luck with it.. so now its been highlighted by a cop, so you can either change it or chance your luck again...

True we have all chanced our arms at some stage, but when your caught you can only look back and say well i escaped for a long time...
But the reason for starting a thread on it i cant figure out...

If your dead against using a normal number plate (tho thats what id advise using)
there is 1 option..... Have a look at Jolly green monsters build thread, he has a sticker number plate on his bonnet

Garda may find this more acceptable (however i doubt it)

OFF
I doubt They would except the car itself
ON

The reason I started this thread Ken C is to see if anyone else has sticker license plates and to get some opinions. Most people think its wrong, and that's fine, but I wanted other people's views on it.

Nah I have no problem using a normal number plate at all Hammie. Just thought I'd get a discussion going

i'd go with the standard plates just to keep on side with the garda. But you're right, they dont know the law in any detail and are only giving you their interpretation. Problem is you have to go through the courts to argue a point. Shouldn't they be chasing bad guys anyway?

but he doesnt have an arguable point.......

+1

There is no discussion. Below are the only legal plates and should be placed facing forward or back at a 90 degree angle to the road. Anything else is illegal. Im going to buy new "fancy" plates for my car soon but I wont be on here giving out if the guard asks me to change. I've already been asked to change my STI style ones and have done so. Its like when people give out when they break the speed limit and are caught. Everyone knows the speed limit. They are there for safety reasons. Rant over :icon_blahblah: :icon_surprised: :icon_surprised: :icon_surprised:

i was told to increase to size of my front reg about two years ago and have got away with it since , even through a checkpoint last night .

you can sometimes bend the law but dont try to break it as your lookin for trouble !
