Garda Seem to hate scoobys

from what ive read so far it seems to come down to one simple thing:
did you move from the overtaking lane to the inside lane to overtake? If so this is illegal undertaking.
or
were you in the inside lane and were passed the car without changing lanes? If so this is perfectly legal and the c*nt-hole garda is wrong.

well i pulled into the inside near the very start of the fastlane as it was clear and all other cars were in the overtaking lane and i just crusied on up it....the other cars stayed in the fast lane and most actually repassed me again...so i suppose its kinda hard to call....

technically, id imagine the rasher was right so, but its gonna be hard for him to say for certain that you didnt enter the slow lane where it breaks into the road. could be worth fighting in court as its open to a certain interpretation which this garda didnt seem to have as he wasnt sure exactly what offence you commited.

thats what im hoping for dave....and as i sad my mate was on the road with me so i got a witness who can prove he was there as he bough his car down there that day so ill see what happens ...its me against him.... :hjtwofinger:

Well in all fairness, it is an overtaking lane on the right.

HOWEVER, I would pass them on the inside lane too.

And the fact that you werent near the speed limit of 100, say you were going 80 for example, you could have the point that you were in the slow lane because you were going slower than the speed limit that was signposted, therefor, that is what the slow lane is for. Your still going slower than the speed limit!! The person on the outside lane is a hazard to other motorists that are coming behind but you were keeping out of the way for any faster cars, so basically :hjtwofinger: :hjtwofinger: to the cops as you were staying safely in the slow lane.

Get the solicitor or even just call to the garda station and see if you can nip it in the bud!

Yeah.. they don't like us. :angry1:

Today on the way to work I was pulled on checkpoint. Gardai said my front plate is too small. o_O OK. I know it is small.. it is intended to be so. :icon_redface: I've tried to explain him, that Ive been being stopped by Garda for so many times, and no one ever mentioned the plate. :ponder2:

While I was buying the car from Colin I asked him about this plate, and he told me NCT has gone through on that? and he never had issues with that? : :dontknow:

The gardai told me today, he's letting me go this time, but I have to change the plate to standard size and if he spots me again I will have a case in court ... :dontknow:

What you think? :ponder2:

quote from rules of the road site:

You must not overtake when:

You are in the left-hand lane of a dual carriageway or motorway when traffic is moving at normal speed.[/quote]

surely you could argue that your man in the overtaking lane was not travelling at a normal speed , thus declaring that part of the the law unapplicable

i got stopped this morning on the motorway way to dublin...fair enough i was over the limit...van was in fast lane and i undertake him by one the flyovers...next thing blue lights on behind me...2 guards went over the car with a fine tooth comb..checked everything....then goes we clocked you at 151 kph...you will have fine in post and 2 points.... :angry1:

Well my number plate is almost half the size of that 1 and it was mentioned to me the other day at the traffic lights.
I lifted another plate off the floor and told him I just bought the car and had it made up.

He started rantin and ravin at me. I pulled the car to the side of the road and lifted the reciept out of the glove box..... Told him if he bothered to look he would have noticed there was no tax on the car either cause i cant tax it till its in my name.......
Told him im also still waiting on the insurance company to get off their arses and send me the updated insurance cert and he could ring them if he wanted to check..........

I started to loose the head with the pri*k and he backed down immediately (first time for everything).... Then the bastid shocked me altogether by sayin "Always loved the Wagons Fair Play" and walked off...........

Lads,
my Dad has a strategy for the overtaking lane hogs.
Pull alongside them, keep exactly at their speed and look through their passenger window with your most idiotic grin on your face.
It upsets most people greatly, and they will pull in or speed up to avoid the psychopath next to them.
Have tried it and it works a dream.
Imagine privacy glass would have an equally good effect

I'll give it a go tomoro on the way to work , nearly every car with a wexford reg has great difficulty understanding its an overtakin lane and you can pull in to let traffic pass , does my head in :angry1: :angry1:

The overtaking lane is just that , ''for overtaking only'' there should be no traffic driving in that lane unless they are doing just that ''Over taking'' !
So the planks that persit to use the Over taking lane as a normal lane are the ones breaking the law.

eh less of the wexford digs !!!!!

Its not your fault your south of the border man

Seriously tho , i've noticed when i'm comin to the start of the n11 dual carraige way at rathnew its the over taken lane that is movin slower than the inside lane and probably 7 out of10 cars in the over taken lane have a wx reg , many a day ive just stayed in the inside lane and gotten to dublin quicker than the cars in the over taking lane , :dontknow:
its like they hit 100kph and thats it they are stuck in that outside lane :cuckoo:

its a shame the Gardai put all their effort into easy targets / minor offences rather than being out catching car thieves and other criminals..
Its a joke if u ask me

if i were you id go looking for that guard and make sure he stops you and then when he takes you to court bring the photos and the plate and give him a bang of it after the judge throws it out, as your plate is a standard size, SOME coppers are pure thick c$%ts
